Model adds Maosol S.A and diversifies its portfolio towards premium frozen products
Frigorífico Modelo S.A. has completed the acquisition of 70% of Maosol S.A., thus consolidating its diversification strategy towards the frozen food sector. Maosol, with more than 30 years in the market, is a leading company in Uruguay dedicated to the import, distribution, and marketing of a wide variety of foods—such as frozen potatoes, vegetables, desserts, premium brand ice cream, fish, and seafood—with a presence in all 19 departments of the country. This integration strengthens Modelo’s position in the food chain, going from being a prominent player in logistics, ice, and juices to having an active role in the mass consumption and frozen food segment. In this way, the company expands its geographic and product reach, reinforcing its commitment to quality, efficiency, and sustainability in the Uruguayan market.
